Yong Ming Li, MD, Former President

Dr. Yong Ming Li, MD, PhD, LAc, is a board-certified physician and licensed acupuncturist with extensive training in both Western medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed his residency in Pathology at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where he is board-certified in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology as well as Dermatopathology. Dr. Li is also a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist practicing at the Herb Acupuncture Clinic in Bridgewater, New Jersey, and is affiliated with the American TCM Society. A prolific researcher and scholar, he has published numerous peer-reviewed papers on acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and meridian theory. Dr. Li served as Chair of the American Alliance for Professional Acupuncture Safety (AAPAS) and has been a leading voice in advocating for acupuncture safety standards and professional recognition at state and national levels. He is the author of the landmark article “Acupuncture Journey to America: A Turning Point in 1971,” documenting the history of acupuncture’s introduction to the United States.
